To be reconciled into a relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ means that you have been adopted into the family of God, and brought into the body of Christ. This is not an optional “ad on” to the Christian life - it is a new reality for those who are united to Jesus. The question is not “am I a member of the body of Christ” (you are), instead we should ask “what does it mean to belong to the body of Christ?
